Warranty policy
1. In-store purchases
All new products purchased in-store from Ability Plus are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty periods vary depending on the specific product. Reconditioned items may also be offered with warranties of differing lengths based on their age and condition.
In addition, we offer Total Care Packages* for a wide range of powered mobility products. This package typically includes:
- An extended warranty (usually 3 years)
- Breakdown cover (usually 3 years)
- Mobility product insurance (up to 1 year maximum)
Shorter-term packages may also be available, and this cover is offered on most mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs.* The Total Care Package is designed to provide peace of mind by ensuring continued support in the event of mechanical failure.
Where feasible, we will endeavour to provide a comparable loan product for use during the repair period. We will also keep you informed of progress throughout the repair process.
Please note*: The extended warranty, breakdown cover, and insurance are only valid if the equipment is serviced by Ability Plus engineers.
Servicing requirements:
- Mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs must undergo an annual service.
- From the second year onwards, each annual service must be completed to maintain the validity of the Total Care Package.
- Services must be carried out within one (1) calendar month of the original purchase anniversary.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to contact Ability Plus to schedule their service.
- All warranty repairs and part replacements are free of charge during the warranty period.
- Items must be returned to the store for assessment.
- If you require us to collect or inspect the item on-site (in Kent only), a £45 call-out fee applies.

2. Online or telephone purchases
For items purchased via our website or by telephone, only the standard manufacturer’s warranty applies (where applicable). Warranty details are usually included in the product packaging or may be obtained directly from the manufacturer.
